About This Trek / Tour

Pokhara is Nepal's most scenic city — a tranquil lakeside destination framed by the dramatic Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. Sitting at 820m altitude on the shores of Phewa Lake, Pokhara is renowned for its stunning reflections of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Peak) at sunrise, its vibrant café culture, world-class paragliding and an abundance of natural and cultural sights all within easy reach.

This 4-day sightseeing tour covers all of Pokhara's major highlights — from the golden sunrise at Sarangkot to peaceful Begnas Lake, the thundering Davis Falls, the serene World Peace Pagoda and a rowing boat visit to the Barahi Temple island on Phewa Lake.

Adventure Add-Ons: Pokhara is the paragliding capital of Asia. Optional paragliding flights (30–60 min, $80–120) and zip-lining are available on request — let us know when booking!

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Arrive in Pokhara by tourist bus from Kathmandu (5–6 hours) or by domestic flight (25 minutes). Transfer to lakeside hotel. Afternoon at leisure — stroll the Lakeside Promenade (Baidam), browse the vibrant shops, cafés and restaurants lining Pokhara's tourist hub. Evening boat ride on Phewa Lake for the first look at Machhapuchhre (6,993m) and Annapurna South (7,219m) reflected in the calm water. Sunset dinner with mountain views. Overnight Pokhara.

Pre-dawn (5:00am) drive up to Sarangkot Hill (1,592m) — the finest Himalayan sunrise viewpoint in Nepal. Watch the snow-capped Annapurna massif, Machhapuchhre and Dhaulagiri glow gold and orange as the sun rises. Return to Pokhara for breakfast. Morning at Davis Falls (Patale Chango) — a powerful waterfall that plunges into an underground tunnel, mysterious and photogenic. Cross the road to Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave — a sacred cave temple with stalactites and underground views of Davis Falls. Afternoon at the International Mountain Museum — Nepal's premier museum dedicated to the Himalayas, mountaineering history and Himalayan peoples. Overnight Pokhara.

Morning rowing boat trip across Phewa Lake (Nepal's second-largest lake, 4.4 sq km) to the Barahi Temple — a small island temple dedicated to the boar incarnation of Vishnu, beautifully set on the water. Continue by boat to the south shore. Hike or take stairs (45 min) up to the World Peace Pagoda (Shanti Stupa, 1,100m) — built by Japanese Buddhist monks, this gleaming white stupa offers a panoramic 360° view of the lake, the city and the entire Annapurna range. Afternoon free for Mahendra Cave — a large limestone cave with stalagmites and stalactites lit by coloured lights — and Bat Cave nearby. Overnight Pokhara.

Morning drive to Begnas Lake (822m) — 15km east of Pokhara, this peaceful and uncrowded lake is surrounded by green forested hills and small farming villages. Take a local rowing boat for a quiet paddle, watch fishermen at work and stroll through a Gurung community village. Return to Pokhara lakeside for a final lakeside lunch. Transfer to Pokhara Airport or bus park for your onward journey. End of the Pokhara Sightseeing Tour.

Best Time for Sarangkot: October–November and March–April offer the clearest mountain views. Arrive at Sarangkot by 5:30am to secure a good spot before sunrise (roughly 6:00–6:30am depending on season). Mornings can be cold — bring a warm layer.

Paragliding in Pokhara: Pokhara is one of the world's best paragliding destinations. Flights launch from Sarangkot and land on the Phewa Lake shore — a 30–60 minute tandem flight with a certified pilot costs $80–120. Absolutely worth adding to your trip!

Lakeside Walking: The Lakeside Promenade (Baidam) is safe and pleasant to walk at any time of day. Evening is lively with cafés, restaurants and live music. The Busy Bee Café and Moondance Restaurant are local favourites.

Combine with Trekking: Pokhara is the starting point for Annapurna treks. Add Poon Hill (3 days), Mardi Himal (5 days) or Annapurna Base Camp (10 days) before or after this sightseeing tour for a complete Nepal experience.
