Our Story & Mission

More than a tour company β€” a passionate team dedicated to sharing Nepal's beauty while giving back to its communities.

Nepal mountain trekking team

Born From a Love of Nepal

Nepal Mountain Tours & Travel was founded by Ranjan Bhandari, a Nepal-born adventurer, community leader and social entrepreneur who has spent his life bridging the gap between Nepal's incredible mountain landscapes and the outside world.

What started as a vision to share Nepal's extraordinary trekking routes with international visitors has grown into a multi-faceted organisation β€” one that operates world-class mountain tours while simultaneously investing in the communities that make Nepal so special.

We are government-registered trekking and tour operators, members of the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) and Nepal Tourism Board approved. Headquartered on JP Road, Thamel β€” the heart of Kathmandu's adventure district.

Our Mission & Core Values

Adventure First

We believe adventure transforms people. We push the limits of possibility β€” safely β€” so our clients return home forever changed by the Himalayas.

Integrity

We say what we include and include what we say. No hidden costs, no surprises. Every booking comes with a detailed, transparent cost breakdown.

Sustainability

No single-use plastics on our treks. We fund trail maintenance and contribute to the communities whose landscapes we share with our guests.

Community

Fair wages above minimum for every guide and porter. A portion of every booking goes directly into Chitwan Community Projects and similar initiatives.
